















Sit-down Peace Protest
2nd July 2010. Simon and Anita with others gathered in the street for a sit down protest in the name of peace. They are calling for an end to the war in Afghanistan and to send the troops home. Today was Democracy village's date of eviction given by the high court. Residents have been told that the date has been extended due to an appeal by two defendents. A new date of the 19th July has been given.
Dean at Democracy Village
28th June 2010. Activist Dean Puckett is a member of the Kew Bridge Eco Village movement who were part of the founding group of Democracy Village, a peace camp set up on Parliament Square on the 1st May 2010. Activists have taken over the square to protest on a number of issues ranging from "Peace, an end to the war in Afghanistan, climate justice, civil liberties, land reform, electoral reform and much more."

Josh, 16, is a resident at Democracy village, says that people are tired and the camp is lacking spirit as it has been a struggle dealing with the living situation and the influx of homeless people with drug and alcohol problems.
